Amelia Adongo
The world of digital marketing is continually evolving, and I take it upon myself to stay abreast of the latest trends and updates in the industry.
I’ve been a professional copywriter and copyeditor since 2012, and creating compelling copy is one of my greatest passions. The majority of my experience is in SEO copywriting for plastic surgeons, cosmetic dentists, and dermatologists, for whom I’ve created engaging, high-quality content to increase their web traffic and grow their audiences.
In college, I minored in English and worked as an English instructor and tutor. During those formative years, I discovered my passion for writing and editing and realized I wanted to make it my career. I subsequently became a writer/editor intern promoting a local music school, and I then went on to work at a digital marketing agency, where I’ve now been employed for over eight years.
I ensure that all of the content I provide is concise, correct, consistent, and conscientious (and apparently also alliterative at times). While polishing each page or blog, I also ensure that it adheres to the client’s unique style preferences as well as the company style guide I created based on The Chicago Manual of Style and the AP Stylebook. I have refined my editing skills over the years, and there are few things I love more than researching tricky grammar rules to expand my knowledge.

My Music Blog: Check the Rhimes
Music is one of my biggest obsessions. Whether it’s listening to, researching, or writing about songs and artists, I just can’t get enough. My taste in music is a bit eclectic; my favorite genre is hip hop (namely, underground and old school), but I also love classic rock, alternative rock, EDM (especially future funk and electro-soul), reggae, … and more recently I’ve even come to appreciate country. And what really tickles my ear pickles is when a song crosses genres, as many often do by way of sampling a beat or lyric from a song of a different genre.
Music is its own language, and the chords, range of notes, and mix of instruments and beats sometimes convey more emotion than words ever could. But I’m always impressed how artists can communicate their ideas or tell a story so effectively while simultaneously demonstrating witty lyrical talent. Wordplay is my favorite, especially puns! (People may have referred to me as a punmaster at one time or another.) Bring on the metaphors, similes, double entendres, and idiomatic puns!
When songs use puns, it’s hook, line, and singer for me.
Watching live music performances is one of my all-time favorite pastimes, and I can’t imagine that going to concerts will ever get old. Even if I’ve already seen someone perform 10 times, the artists are constantly evolving, and even the genres themselves are constantly changing. The sense of community and engagement from going to a show breathes life into me.
I also got married recently and am enjoying being a wife! Luckily, my husband loves concerts almost as much as I do.
